Emmanuel K.O. Amoah

Personal Profile

​Emmanuel is a highly motivated legal professional with a specialized focus on International Economic Law and academia. He is a dual-qualified attorney admitted to the New York and Ghana Bar. Having completed his LLM in General Studies with a Certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies from Georgetown University Law Center, he also served as an articles advisor for the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He was the first president of the Georgetown Society for Trade, Development, and Investment (Now Georgetown International Economic Law Society). Emmanuel is distinguished as a Fellow of the Institute of International Economic Law and was honored with the 2023 John H. Jackson Memorial Endowed Scholarship, recognizing him as the most outstanding fellow of the Institute.

Throughout his legal journey, Emmanuel has worked as a Trainee Associate at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah law firm, and as a Legal Assistant at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. His role as a Clerk of Justice at the Supreme Court of Ghana further honed his legal research and writing competencies, where he was instrumental in preparing draft judicial opinions. He is currently the General Counsel for Crown Peak Investment and all its affiliated companies across over 10 African countries. Emmanuel also serves as an attorney at Asiedu & Yorke Law Firm in Accra.

Recently, he concluded his role at the Library of Congress, where he served as a Global Legal Research Volunteer, authoring research papers and memoranda to assist Members of Congress and other patrons of the Library. Emmanuel has also joined Ashesi University’s Law Department as an adjunct faculty member, contributing to the foundation of the Ashesi Law Program, which begins in September 2024.

Emmanuel is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, the American Bar Association and its International Trade Committee, and the American Society of International Law. Beyond his professional affiliations, Emmanuel is a passionate music and podcast enthusiast, enjoys playing tennis and watching soccer, and is deeply committed to volunteering in his community. Emmanuel is poised to make meaningful contributions to both the legal field and his community.
